Your data is protected while verifying backlinks
with our evaluation engine.
Learn how backlink lists, toxic scores, classification data and disavow.txt are stored and processed using secure workflows informed by the same pre-index evaluation signals used before major search engines make trust decisions.
This page explains how we handle backlink data, pre-index evaluation signals and generated reports when you request an audit.
Use your backlink lists and evaluation data only to run audits, improve report quality and provide support.
Sell your backlink lists, share them externally, or make any changes inside your live Search Console.
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what data we process, why we process it, how we protect it, and how long it is kept when you use VerifyBacklinks.
This Privacy Policy applies to the Verify Backlinks marketing website and audit service (the “Service”). It describes how we collect, use, store and protect information when you access the Service, contact us, or request an audit.
Verify Backlinks is a pay-per-audit analysis service. You decide what to upload and how outputs are used.
Separate from this marketing website, the Verify Backlinks audit application processes uploads and generates reports. The application does not use third-party tracking, and we keep usage measurement inside our own systems.
We may process these categories of data:
- Audit Inputs: backlink URLs, anchors, sheet metadata, and related fields you upload.
- Audit Outputs: toxic scores, tiers, risk labels, recommendations, generated Excel / PDF / disavow.txt.
- Contact data: email, name (if provided), company/agency name (if provided), messages to support.
- Payment data: transaction identifiers and payment status via Stripe. We do not store full card details.
- Technical/security logs: IP address, timestamps, device/browser info, and security events for abuse prevention and service protection.
- Website traffic analytics (cookie-less): on our public marketing pages, we may collect anonymous, aggregated metrics such as page views, referrers, approximate location (country/region derived from IP), device type and performance signals. This data is used to understand reach and improve content and does not identify you.
Please avoid uploading personal data that is not necessary for backlink auditing. You remain responsible for the content you upload.
We use data for:
- Providing the Service: running audits and generating Excel / PDF / disavow.txt you requested.
- Support: answering questions, troubleshooting, and delivery assistance.
- Security: preventing abuse, protecting accounts and infrastructure.
- Operations & improvement: improving our public website content and service reliability using anonymous, aggregated analytics on marketing pages.
- Compliance: legal and accounting obligations where applicable.
We do not use your backlink lists as marketing datasets, lead lists, or for resale.
If you are in the EU/EEA/UK, we process data under GDPR legal bases such as performance of a contract, legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, service operation and improvement), and legal obligations. We do not use advertising or profiling cookies. No cookie banner is required because we do not set non-essential cookies.
Outside these regions, we process data under applicable local privacy laws and principles consistent with this policy.
We do not sell your audit data. We share data only as necessary to run the Service:
- Payments: Stripe processes transactions and returns payment status/identifiers.
- Infrastructure: hosting/storage/logging providers required to operate the Service securely.
- Support tooling: used only to respond to your requests (when needed).
- Website analytics (self-hosted, cookie-less): our analytics stack is operated in-house and used only for aggregated marketing website metrics.
We restrict access and require processors to protect data. Processors may not use your audit data for their own marketing.
We apply reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards, including controlled access, protected storage and security monitoring. No system is 100% secure, but we continuously improve our controls.
Where feasible, we minimize access to uploaded files and limit retention to what is needed for processing, delivery and support.
We retain data only as long as necessary for delivery, support, security and legal obligations.
| Data | Why | Typical retention |
|---|---|---|
| Uploaded audit files (Inputs) | Run audit + support troubleshooting | Short-term; removed when no longer needed for delivery/support |
| Generated outputs (Excel / PDF / disavow.txt) | Delivery + access + support | Limited; removed when no longer needed or upon request where feasible |
| Support messages | Resolve issues | As needed for support history |
| Security logs | Abuse prevention and protection | Limited period suitable for security monitoring |
| Payment records (via Stripe) | Accounting/compliance | As required by applicable law |
| Marketing website analytics (cookie-less) | Measure reach and improve content | Aggregated analytics retained for a limited period suitable for trend analysis |
Exact retention may vary depending on legal requirements, fraud prevention and operational needs.
Depending on infrastructure providers, data may be processed in countries outside your own. Where EU/EEA/UK transfer rules apply, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses (SCCs) or other mechanisms required by law.
Our marketing website analytics is operated in-house and does not rely on third-party advertising networks.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, and to receive a portable copy of certain data. To submit a request, email [email protected]. We may verify your identity to protect your data.
If your request relates to a specific audit, include the order reference or report filename so we can locate the relevant data.
The Service is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
Verify Backlinks does not use advertising cookies, profiling cookies, or third-party tracking pixels. We do not set non-essential cookies and therefore do not require a cookie consent banner.
We use self-hosted, cookie-less analytics on our own infrastructure to understand how our public pages perform. This analytics setup does not use tracking cookies, does not create persistent identifiers, and does not track users across websites or sessions. The data collected is limited to aggregated, non-identifying metrics such as page views, referrers, device category, and approximate geographic location (country or region derived from IP address, which is not stored in identifiable form). We use this information solely to improve the performance and reliability of our website. If our analytics practices change in the future, we will update this policy and implement consent mechanisms where required by law.
If this approach changes in the future, we will update this policy and, where required by law, implement appropriate notices or consent controls.
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service evolves. Material changes will be communicated clearly where reasonably possible. The latest version is effective from the date shown at the top of this page.
